I understand that this kit is for all-grain brewers and requires specialized equipment to brew. Instructions and BeerSmith files are available to help determine strike and sparge volumes and temperatures. This Irish red ale is a balanced, easy-drinker with moderate malt character full of caramel and toasted notes. The deep reddish color comes mainly from a blend of crystal malts and a small dose of roasted barley. The hop bitterness is in the mid range for the style however the touch of roast barley does make the beer seem slightly more bitter than the IBU level would indicate.

All malts for this kit come milled and are supplied mixed in one bag. Grains are not milled until the kit has been purchased. Milled grains will last for up to one year provided they are kept sealed in the bag they come in. If you are not brewing right away please put the hops in the freezer and the yeast in the fridge to keep them fresh.
