Return/Refund Policy
Returns and Refunds:
If you are unhappy with your purchase, please give us a call at 902-892-8052 or email me at matt@eastcoasthoppers.ca and we'll work on it and figure out what the best course of action will be to resolve the issue.
If you want to return an item for any reason please contact us first.
If the item is defective, or a wrong item was inadvertently sent, East Coast Hoppers (ECH) will cover the cost of return shipping postage (if applicable) should we wish to have the item returned. ECH reserves the right to decide whether or not to send the correct item or to issue a refund for the item ordered. In the case of re-shipping, ECH will assume the cost of sending the correct item.
If you wish to return the item because you purchased the wrong thing, you've ordered more than you needed, or for any other personal reason, you will be responsible for return shipping. Items such as ingredients (see below) are exempt from this type of return.
A refund or replacement will be processed immediately upon receipt of the returned item.
All returns must be made within 30 days from date of purchase
During COVID-19, any item being returned to the store must be disinfected in a manor that will not harm the item in any way but be conducive to preventing the spread of the virus. For Health Canada approved disinfectants please refer to Health Canada's list of approved disinfectants
Please note: East Coast Hoppers does not honor manufacturer warranty's. If your purchase has a manufacturer warranty, please contact the manufacturer.
Please note that several types of goods are exempt from being returned such as:
Ingredients - Raw materials such as (but not limited to) hops, malt, yeast, sugars spices etc. cannot be returned once they have left the store unless they are defective, in which case, upon inspection of the product, a refund will be processed for the item.
Milled malt - If you have requested that your malt be milled, once it is milled it has a finite life span and can not be returned or refunded. This includes all grain kits with milled malts.
East Coast Hoppers is not responsible for items heating or freezing while in transit. When ordering temperature sensitive items such as liquid yeasts or Biofine Clear we highly recommend paying the extra and getting priority shipping (Xpresspost for example) to get it to you quickly. You can also request the use of an insulated shipper to minimize the shipping risks however there are additional costs associated with this. Please email us and we will work with you on this.
We do add ice packs, at our discretion (weather dependent), free of charge, to help regulate the temperature when shipping liquid yeasts but there are a few other things to consider:
It is best to order these types of items over the weekend so they ship out on Monday and have the best chance of arriving during the week.
Please have a look at the weather forecast to see if there is any extreme temperature or weather events in the near future that could impact the time it takes for your package to arrive. We advise against shipping things like liquid yeasts when it is going to be +/-30°C during the time your package will be in transit or using a method such as flat rate shipping during the hottest part of the summer or coldest part of the winter.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again or contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us.
