East Coast Hoppers is very proud to be the retail outlet for Island Malt House!

Island Malt House is a PEI based, family owned and operated, craft malting company that started production in the fall of 2018.

This idea came to them after a farm tour showing malting barleys and hops at the research station in Harrinton. Breweries assured them that they were very interested in buying locally produced malts. After a course at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre in Winnipeg, they got started renovating and buying equipment.

Their malts are produced in a traditional, hand crafted way, called floor malting from grains locally produced by our farmers here on PEI. Each batch is tested by the Hartwick College Centre for Craft Food and Beverages.

Island Malt House carries the following malts: Barley, Wheat, Rye, Buck Wheat, Amber and Belgian Biscuit available to all breweries in Atlantic Canada and at East Coast Hoppers Homebrew Supply.
