Horizon was bred in Oregon, USA. A half-sister to Nugget, Horizon was developed in 1970 through the USDA breeding program but not released commercially until 1998. Its lineage includes Brewers Gold, Early Green, USDA 65009 and 64035M.
Horizon’s low cohumulone and high alpha content makes it a preferred hop of many brewers for a smooth, clean bittering quality. It also has good aromatic potential, making it a versatile dual-purpose hop for any American craft beverage style.
Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Sweetly floral with tangy hop spice. Intensity can range from quite mild to moderate depending on crop and growing conditions.
