PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: I understand that this kit is for all-grain brewers and requires specialized equipment and knowledge to brew. East Coast Hoppers Kits include Instructions and BeerSmith files to help determine strike and sparge volumes and temperatures. Other kits may require brewing software or a knowlege of brewing calculations to determine water volumes and temperatures. It is up to the brewer to determine if this kit is appropriate for their equipment and techniques.

Tasting Notes: This is a rich, moderately dark, malt forward beer with bready/toasty notes, almost biscuit like flavors and aromas from the dark Munich malt used.

Notes: Gordon likes to do a step mash for this beer, mashing just the Munich malt only and then adding in the melanoiden and carafa at the end of the mash. I've added the recommended mash temp as a single infusion above but this beer can be step mashed or decocted if you prefer to do it the traditional way. He also recommends to boil for 90 minutes.
