Weyermann® Carafa® III dehusked is the darkerst roasted specialty malt in the Carafa® lineup and is made from the same high-quality spring barley. When dark grain astringency or bitterness is not desired, Weyermann® Carafa® III dehusked is a  perfect fit as it produces rich color, body, flavor and aroma. This malt is typically used in authentic German dark lagers such as Dunkels & Schwarzbiers.  Use small quantities for color adjustments to gain red hues and use larger quantities for black color and smooth roast flavor.
